Loudoun Board Reinstates Principal Brewer on Probationary Status

Technically, the board voted to terminate his position, and rehire him as principal effective April 17. He will be unpaid during that period. If he accepts the offer, Brewer will forfeit his continuing contract status and continue as principal on a probationary period, with contracts to be renewed annually, for three years.

So what's the f-ing deal with this decision the allow John Brewer to come back on as Principal?  It seems that this firing and re-hiring was simply a politically correct way to pacify Superintendent Eric Williams, who wanted John fired, but at the same time, hire him back to satisfy his thousands of supporters.  Clearly there is no evidence of wrongdoing on the part John Brewer.  Everyone who knows John will attest to his character and sometimes in a large setting like Dominion High School it is possible to NOT know everything about every teacher and what they are doing.  So even if you disregard this, there is no solid evidence that Dr. Brewer did anything wrong.  OK, so he did write a letter of recommendation for a pervert.  When did it become a crime to offer a recommendation for someone who was a good instructor?  Maybe, just maybe, John truly didn't know that band director Brian Damron liked to talk sexual innuendo with students, which everyone can agree is unacceptable behavior.  But in all honesty, I feel the f-ing deal here is just this;  Dr. John Brewer is a Christian.  That's it, plain and simple.  John Brewer is open about it, talks about it, and our beloved Superintendent is an atheist with an agenda.  It's not a crime to say you are a Christian.  It's time for Superintendent Eric Williams to go.  It's time for tolerance.
